Asif’s killing outcome of impunity to men in uniform, says Rashid, detained for protesting

Posted on

MLA Langate Engineer Rashid while protesting against the gruesome killing of young taxi driver Asif Iqbal of Kralpora Kupwara was detained at the Kralpora police station.

Rashid was leading a protest march which was fired upon with teargas canisters.

Scores of people were wounded in the protest and the situation continues to remain volatile .

Engineer Rashid termed the killing of Asif Iqbal as ‘continuous and brazen misuse of power’ and a ‘never ending saga of human rights violations against browbeaten people of Kashmir’.

“Where are the champions of human rights? What about the claims of Indian army to show zero tolerance against human rights violations? Rather than imprisoning the killers of Asif the government has imprisoned internet again. Injustice and Kashmir have been made synonyms with men in uniform enjoying unprecedented impunity for killing innocent Kashmiris,” Rashid said.
