Gunman opens fire outside church in Egypt, Five dead

At least five people have been killed and several others injured after a gunman opened fire on a church near the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

According to a police official, “The attacker wounded five security guards before trying to enter the Coptic Orthodox Church of Marmina in Helwan City, south of Cairo.” He added that the gunmen was later shot dead by police.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Daesh has frequently targeted Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Christians in attacks this year.
