Man arrested for posing as ‘vigilance commissioner’, says Police

Police on Tuesday said that they arrested a person impersonating as a vigilance commissioner.

A Spokesperson of the JK Police said, “Srinagar Police arrested the impersonator namely Javed Akhtar son of Abul Kalam and his wife Nishat Akhtar resident of House no F-82, G-10, Jawaher Park Lakashmi Nager, Delhi East who was impersonating as vigilance commissioner,” said a police spokesman.

He said the accused was wanted in a case FIR no 40/2018 under section 419, 420, 120B RPC of Police Station Rajbagh. “Further investigation of the case is under progress,” he said.

“General public is requested that if anyone has any grievance or has been cheated or duped by them may report in Police Station Rajbagh for the resolution of their matters.”
