Police constable shot dead after Eid prayer in Kulgam, police says HM behind killing
Srinagar: Gunmen on Wednesday shot dead a policeman in Awgam village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The trainee police constable, identified as Fayaz Ahmad Shah of Zazipora, was heading to his home after offering Eid prayers when gunmen opened fire on him, leaving him critically injured.

A police officer confirmed the incident and said that the constable was immediately shifted to nearby hospital where he succumbed.
“Militants are involved in his killing and a case under relevant sections of law has been initiated with regard to the incident,” he said.

Shah, who was earlier working as a Special Police Officer (SPO) was recently promoted as constable, reported GNS news agency.
