Homosexuality not a crime but marriages between same sex against nature, says RSS

A constitutional bench headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra in the Supreme Court of India on Thursday unanimously struck down on Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) which criminalises ‘unnatural sex’. The judgement, in four separate and concurring judgements legalised same-sex relations between consenting adults.

Reacting to the landmark Judgement, the ideological mentor of the ruling BJP the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh said it backed the Supreme Court judgement that homosexuality is not a crime, even though it does not support “this kind of relationship”.

“RSS does not believe homosexuality is a crime, but marriages between same sex partners are against nature, “said  Sangh functionary Arun Kumar.

The organisation, which is the fountainhead of various pro-Hindu grounds in the country that are counted as the “Sangh parivar”, has always opposed homosexuality.

“Gay marriage and relationship are not compatible with nature and are not natural, so we do not support this kind of relationship. Traditionally, India’s society also does not recognize such relations,” Kumar added.
