Weather expected to improve from today evening, likely to remain dry till Nov 21: MeT office
Srinagar: The local Meterological Department Wednesday said that the weather is expected to improve from Thursday evening and remain dry till November 21, after higher reaches of the Valley received fresh snowfall.
MeT Department Director Sonam Lotus said that the weather has started to improve but there can be light rains or snow at some places in next 24 hours.
“After overall improvement from Thursday evening, weather is likely to remain dry till November 21,” he said.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rains were witnessed in the plains on Wednesday following fresh snowfall in northern, southern and central areas of Kashmir.
Srinagar recorded a maximum of 7.9 degrees Celsius and minimum of 5.2 degrees, with a recorded 5.2 mm rainfall.
The temperatures recorded elsewhere were: Qazigund (maximum 6.2 degrees Celsius, minimum 5.2 degrees Celsius); Pahalgam (maximum 4.4 degrees Celsius, minimum 1.3 degrees Celsius); Kupwara (maximum 6.72 degrees Celsius, minimum 1.6 degrees Celsius); Kokernag (7.3 degrees Celsius, minimum 3.7 degrees Celsius); Gulmarg (maximum 1.4 degrees Celsius, minimum minus -3.0 degrees Celsius); Leh (maximum 8.1 degrees Celsius, minimum minus -1.4 degrees Celsius) and Kargil (maximum 7.6 degrees Celsius, minimum minus 7.0 degrees Celsius).
