‘Don’t allow Mehbooba to enter houses of martyrs’

Srinagar: Hizbul Mujahideen Field Operational Commander, Riyaz Naikoo has condemned the desecration of pulpit at Jamia Masjid Srinagar, saying Islamic State (IS) flags are being waved at the ‘behest of Indian agencies’.

Naikoo, in a purported audio message, which went viral on social media on Sunday, can be heard saying, “Youth don’t understand that it is a ploy by Indian agencies to defame our movement.”

In the video which first surfaced on micro blogging social networking site twitter, Naikoo is heard as saying, “India has long been trying to break us and now it has come under the guise of Islam. Youth don’t understand that it’s a ploy by Indian agencies to defame our movement

Urging people of Kashmir to remain aware of the ‘ploys and conspiracies’, Naikoo can be head saying, “We get swayed by emotions, but we should use our mind to understand enemies’ plots. Waving of ISIS flags is like going against the freedom movement and ditching the blood of martyrs.”

“There are people with vested interests who are pushing it (waving of IS flags). When we are alive they call us murtads (apostates) but when we embrace martyrdom they appear in our funerals with flags,” Naikoo said.

Accusing people waving black ISIS flags at the pulpit of Jamia Masjid Srinagar to connect Kashmir freedom struggle with the global terror network, Riyaz Naikoo in the video can be head saying, “War is but strategy. One has to use emotions and well as mind in it. One has to decide what’s to be done and what not. There are people with vested interests who are pushing it,” adding that ‘on one hand Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is trying to unite people for the just cause but these people with vested interests want to divide us.”

He said Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was trying to unite people for the just cause. “… but these people (masked youth) with vested interests want to divide us.”

Asking people not to let former chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti enter the ‘houses of martyrs’, he said as elections approach ‘she started to visit their homes to enact drama’.

“Her hands are drenched with blood. She is the same person who said that those killed were not there to buy toffees,” Naikoo said.

“I urge people to throw her out from their houses and don’t let her in,” he says.

The statement came after a group of masked boys entered the Jamia Masjid and displayed the ISIS flag on the pulpit of the mosque.

The incident took place in Jama Masjid in the afternoon after the namazis had left.

In the video which has been widely shared on social media, the youth can be seen on the Mimbar (Pulpit) of the mosque waving the ISIS flag. They can also be heard chanting slogans in favour of ISIS (Daulat-e-Islam).
