12 year old injured in building collapse after Srinagar gunfight succumbs to injuries

Srinagar: A 12 year old boy, Basim Aijaz, son of Aijaz Ahmad of Chota Bazar Karan Nagar, who was injured in building collapse after a gunfight in Nawakadal area of Srinagar, has succumbed to injuries at the SMHS Hospital.

Officials said that the boy, who is class 7th student was undergoing treatment at SMHS hospital after he was injured.

Four people had been injured after locals visited the gunfight site and the house collapsed while they were inside.

At least fifteen houses were destroyed in the gun-battle between the armed forces and Kashmiri militants in the capital region of Srinagar’s Kanimazar neighbourhood on Tuesday.

Two Hizb-ul Mujahideen militants, including Junaid Sehrai, son of Kashmiri resistance leader Ashraf Sehrai, were killed in the gunfight.

In the fire-fight which broke out on the intervening night in May 18-19 in Nawakadal area of Srinagar, a Jammu and Kashmir Police constable and a CRPF soldier also sustained injuries.
