With cases of COVID rising at a fast clip in India, the Government of India and state governments have implemented a series of steps aimed at curbing the threat.

In Kashmir, the administration has announced a complete lockdown in areas of Kashmir zone which have been categorised as red zones due to spike in the number of COVID cases.

In wake of the COVID outbreak, recent research published by United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), said that at least 40 million children worldwide have missed out on early childhood education in their critical pre-school year due to the COVID closing the childcare and early education facilities.

Earlier on July 21, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) chief Shekhar C Mande asserted that airborne transmission of COVID is indeed a “distinct possibility” and advised people to wear masks even in enclosed spaces.
