COVID claims 801 lives in JK so far, cases at 44,570
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday informed that 10,13 fresh COVID infections have been reported in a day, thus taking the total number of cases to 44,570.
The erstwhile state also reported fresh 17 deaths- 7 from Jammu division and 10 from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 433 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 69 from Jammu division and 364 from Kashmir division.
According to the daily bulletin, out of 44570 positive cases, 11009 are Active Positive, 32760 have recovered and 801 have died; 105 in Jammu division and 696 in Kashmir division.
The bulletin further said that out of 1088652 test results available, 1044082 samples have been tested as negative till September 07, 2020.
Till date, 4,82,771 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 40114 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 11009 in isolation and 49120 under home surveillance. Besides, 381727 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 meter from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitiser or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.
