Grenade attack in south Kashmir’s Bijbehara, armed forces personnel injured

Bijbehara: An armed forces personnel was injured on Thursday afternoon after suspected militants lobbed a grenade on a posse of armed forces in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Official sources said that suspected militants lobbed the grenade on a joint team of armed forces personnel near the sub-district hospital in Bijbehara, resulting in injuries to one of the personnel belonging to Central Reserve Police Force.

The injured armed forces personnel has been identified as Patil Padmamakar of 40 battalions who was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the joint team of forces personnel have cordoned off and searches are going on.

Pertinent to mention that a Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) rally was today organised in the town hall of Bijbehara.
