Mehbooba Mufti detained, disallowed to visit family of slain civilian killed in Hyderpora

Srinagar: People Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday detained by the authorities at her Gupkar residence ahead of her visit to slain Mohammad Altaf Bhat’s residence in Barzulla, Srinagar.

Mehbooba was scheduled to visit the slain Altaf’s family at Barzulla. However, police have detained her inside her Fairview Gupkar residence, news agency Kashmir Dot Com reported quoting reliable sources.

Altaf was among three civilians killed in Srinagar Hyderpora by armed forces personnel. Various politicians have been visiting the families of the slain to offer condolences.

Mehbooba had earlier said that she wanted to visit the family but was not allowed to step outside.
