Patient jumps off hospital building in south Kashmir, dies

Kulgam: An elderly patient died on Saturday after he allegedly jumped from the 4th floor of the hospital in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said.

An official said that an elderly patient who was undergoing treatment at District Hospital Kulgam ended his life by jumping from the fourth floor of the hospital this morning.

The deceased patient has been identified as Abdul Ahad Malla, 70, a resident of Tarigam area of Kulgam district, he said.

The patient, according to the official, was suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease besides depression, which might be the reason behind the extreme step.

He added that investigation in this regard has been taken up. (KNO)
