Tyndale Biscoe school hosts Move Beyond for career development
Srinagar: Move Beyond- A Career Counselling School organized an Innovative Career Development Workshop at Tyndale Biscoe and Mallinson School.
The workshop was titled as Listening to You. Unlike offering career counselling to students, the workshop was focussed on listening to student’s career concerns and issues followed by a brainstorming session.
After the session, the students were counselled about different career issues and scientific ways to address them.
The students were also apprised about the world of work and the right process of career development.
The emphasis was laid down on right selection of courses and institutions in tune with the personality of a student and market demand.
The students were also sensitized about the study abroad processes and were informed about the global scholarships as well.
The event was supported by IIEDC, NIT Srinagar as a part of their International Youth Outreach and Employability Program (IYOEP).
The IYOEP is a joint initiative of Move Beyond and IIEDC, NIT Srinagar to reach out to the youth of J&K and help them in their employability.
Move Beyond is an incubated startup of IIEDC, NIT, Srinagar and has been providing career counselling to the students of J&K for long.
More than 20,000 students have been counselled by the Move Beyond so far.
The main objective of the workshop was to engage students in a constructive debate, feedback, challenges and opportunities on the process of career development so that they realize deeply the importance of conscious learning, skill development and career planning.
Sheikh Inayat Ullah who is career innovator at NIT Srinagar and an International Certified Career Coach by NCDA, USA conducted the session and provided key insights to the students regarding career development.

Professor Saad Parvez, Head IIEDC, NIT Srinagar and Dr Muslim Jan, Senior Consultant to Move Beyond were the Guest of Honour on the occasions.
Parvez Koul, Director Tyndale Biscoe and Mallinson Girls’ School, Alistair R A Freese Principal Tyndale-Biscoe & Mallinson Girls’ School, Joyce Kaul, Headmistress Mallinson Girls’ School, Muzamil Fatima, Event Coordinator, Tyndale Biscoe and Mallinson Girls’ School and other staff members were present on the occasion.
“The workshop was enlightening and really helpful,” said by one of the students who attended the workshop.
Listening to you is an innovative idea followed by Move Beyond that aims at scientific understanding of students in J&K on a holistic pattern i.e., psycho-socio-economic levels so that they are provided customized career guidance to pursue their career ambitions, the student said.
It is a scientific stepwise process of developing a deep understanding of the student community and help students in particular and youth in general to avail customized and psychometrically grounded career guidance so as to identify the career path which will maximize the chances of their successful career, the student added.
The school administration thanked the Move Beyond for conducting career development workshop with their students and presented a memento to Sheikh Inayat Ullah as an appreciation for his great efforts in guiding students towards career development.
Professor Saad Parvez, Head IIEDC, NIT Srinagar in his address mentioned about the initiatives IIEDC has taken to promote the innovative and startup culture in the valley to create a knowledge economy.
Professor Geer Mohammad Ishaaq, Director CCPC, University of Kashmir in his keynote address said that students must take their career seriously and look for the career guidance from Move Beyond. He further said that the beliefs, values, circumstances and upbringing influences the career decision one makes at some point of time.
Move Beyond has also signed a MoU with IIEDC, NIT for leading holistic development of the UT of J&K particularly youth outreach and employability.
The Chief Patron of the conceived International Youth Outreach and Employability Program (IYOEP) is Prof Rakesh Sehgal, Director NIT Srinagar, Patron is Prof Saad Parvez, Head IIEDC, NIT Srinagar, Program Director is Sheikh Inayat Ullah, Founder / Director Move Beyond and Chief Consultant is Prof Nisar Ali, economist of repute, formerly Adviser to J&K Govt Higher Education Department.
In addition to it, the startup has a mentorship team from NIT Srinagar as well that comprises of Prof Ajaz Ahmad Mir, Prof Shabir Sofi, Ejaz Ayoub (Research Scholar / BFSI Professional) and Prof Ahsan Chisti from Central University of Kashmir.
Move Beyond is working on the principle of ARDSA (Analysing Requirements and Designing Solution Architecture) and as such has developed scientific innovative models recognized by IIEDC, NIT Srinagar.
The startup has been organizing several free events and webinars that include an awareness event on Fulbright Fellowships at University of Kashmir, first ever international online Career Summit (2020), webinars on Startup Ecosystem in J&K and fashion designing. It has also organized Asia’s Leading Counselling Meet (2021). Such events aim to guide and assist the students in their career development.
Move Beyond has recently launched its exclusive online educational series Career Chat.
It aims to connect the young students of J&K with the eminent career achievers across the globe. It has also started another live series-Success Tales that connects the students with the toppers of different competitive examinations.
The idea is to inspire and provide direction to aspiring students who are in the process of making and shaping their careers.
Move Beyond has planned numerous initiatives to reach out to students of J&K and help them in their career development and employability.
