‘Graveyards, cremation grounds getting filled up’

Srinagar: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti while termed the killings of three youth in Chadoora ‘highly painful’ expressed her anguish over the unfortunate incident.

“It is highly painful to see the young boys losing their lives, “she said.

CM also added that ‘restrain is needed from all sides’ as violence will yield nothing.

“We know there are issues that need to be addressed and resolved but no one will be able to do anything at a point when violence becomes a norm. There is a need for restrain from all sides so that conducive atmosphere is created and dissent is expressed in peaceful way,” Mehbooba said.

“The graveyards are getting filled up and the cremation grounds too. Violence has only led to death, be it militants, policemen or army men”

She further added, “Solution to problems can be found only through political means and not through violence.

While asking militants to lay down their arms, the CM pointed out that violence had only lead to death and destruction in the valley.

“The graveyards are getting filled up and the cremation grounds too. Violence has only led to death, be it militants, policemen or army men. Violence is not a solution to any issue… only peace and dialogue can lead to a solution, “she said.
