Srinagar: Two teenaged Kashmiri youth have been detained by Indian army men at Line of Control in Karnah sector, on Thursday.

The Express Tribune reported that two teenaged Kashmiri students, from Muzaffarabad – the capital city of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) – who inadvertently crossed the LoC were arrested by Indian army men guarding the de facto border.

The newspaper identified the detained youth as Wasalat and Muhammad Iftikhar who belong to Samari Terban Jura village in Neelum Valley of PaK. “… they mistakenly entered the territory while herding goats in a forest.”

The 14-year-old boys who study in eight class crossed the LoC from Samari and were immediately taken into custody by the Indian army.

To verify the media reports coming from across the LoC, the FreePressKashmir contacted Srinagar based defence spokesperson, Col Rejesh Kalia, who assured to reply with details.

However, when this news report was published, Col Kalia was yet to respond.

The family of the two boys has appealed to the government of Pakistan to take up the issue with India “to save their lives and educational career”.
