Modi becomes first Prime Minister from India to visit Israel, defence technology to be discussed
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, landed in Israel for his three-day visit.
Modi met the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and is to meet President Reuven Rivlin. The leaders seek to strengthen India-Israel relationship on a range of areas including defence and technology.

PM Modi and Prime Minister Netanyahu will also discuss measures to counter terrorism and increase cooperation in sharing of intelligence in this regard.

Not many politicians from Kashmir commented on this development, but those few who did showed signs of discomfort, albeit choosing the words carefully.

Bhim Singh, party leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party wrote “an urgent letter to PM Narendra Modi expressing deep concern” on his visit to Israel.
“It is my earnest appeal to the Hon’ble Prime Minister to take care that half of the world is in favour of providing justice with equity to the people of Palestine and their state. Israel must be told without any hesitation that she (Israel) must implement every clause of Article 242 and 338,” he said.
He further added, “Not a single soldier in Israeli uniform should be seen within the four walls of Palestine. That is the message which the Prime Minister of India should convey to Israel within any hesitation.”
