Pulwama encounter: Injured youth succumbs to injuries

Srinagar: A youth, Akeel Ahmed Bhat, was injured after Tuesday’s encounter in Pulwama district, succumbed to his injuries in SKIMS on Wednesday morning.

He was injured after government forces opened fire to disperse protesters who were protesting during an encounter in which Lashkar commander Abu Dujana and his associate were killed.

Bhat was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura for further treatment where he breathed his last.

With his death, the civilian toll in yesterday’s government action on protesters has reached two.

On Tuesday, a driver Firdaus Ahmed Khan was hit by a bullet near the encounter site in Hakripora.
