Three conduits of Hizb arrested, were luring boys into militancy: Police
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested three people who during interrogation admitted that they were working for the militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.
In a statement police said that the trio has been identified as Waseem Ahmed Mir, son of Nazir Ahmed Mir, resident of Andergam Pattan, Umer Hassan Rather, son of Gh Hassan Rather, resident of Achabal, Sopore and Akif Hussain Rather, son of Gh Hassan Rather, also a resident of Achbal, Sopore.
Police said that its team assisted by 29 RR and CRPF on specific information laid a joint Naka at Behrampora, Tilgam crossing during which the trio was apprehended.
In the statement police added that two Chinese pistols along with ammunition was recovered from the trio.
The police statement added that they have been motivating boys to join militancy and have been working as long time conduits for the militants in North Kashmir.
“On sustained questioning, the trio admitted that they are working for Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit and are motivating young boys into militancy. These individuals have been long time conduits of terrorists in North Kashmir playing a major role in enticing young boys to join militancy,” the police statement read.
The police also claimed that the network was being spearheaded by the HM Commander Parvez Wani alias Mubashir who is a resident of Galoora, Handwara.
“The network of these militants has not only been luring young boys to join militancy but also providing all logistic support to terrorists in the Andergam, Pattan and Sopore areas,” police added.
Case FIR No 57/2017 under sections of 13 Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, [ULA (P) Act ] has been registered in Police station Kreeri in this regard, police statement concluded.
The police also appealed that parents should come forward so that vulnerable youngsters can be stopped from joining militant ranks.
