3 militants, one BSF soldier killed in Humhama ‘Fidayeen’ attack
Srinagar: Three Fidayeen militants, and one BSF soldier were killed, and three other Indian Armed Forces personnel were injured in an ongoing attack at a Border Security Force (BSF) camp near the Srinagar airport on Tuesday, police said.

Militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
Jaish-e-Mohammed, literally “The Army of Muhammad”, abbreviated as JeM, is a Deobandi militant group active in Kashmir. The group’s primary motive is to ‘liberate’ Kashmir from India and merge it into Pakistan. It has carried out several attacks primarily in Jammu and Kashmir.
The attack at the 182 battalion camp in Humhama took place at 4.30 a.m.
“Three BSF men and a policeman were injured. Firing is ongoing,” according to reports.
As the militants entered the camp’s administrative block, they were surrounded by the forces, according to the police.
“It was a suicide attack. Two militants have been killed while an operation against other holed-up militants inside the camp is ongoing,” reports quoting police sources said.
Top state police, BSF and Central Reserve Police Force officials have reached the gunfight site. The search operation is now going on.
