‘Kaandurs’ penalized for cheating consumers, not adhering to Rs5 for 60 gram ‘Tsott’ rule

Srinagar: Prompted by public complaints that the bakers of the area of Ishbar, Nishat and of Srinagar city are indulging in short weighment of Kashmiri Tsott, Lawaas, Tsoachwoar, the field executives of Legal Metrology under the supervision of Amar Singh, Joint Controller Legal Metrology, Kashmir, conducted a surprise inspection

The inspectors booked a number of erring traders for violating Legal Metrology laws.

The Director Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs, Kashmir has fixed the price of Rs 5 for 60 gram Kashmiri Tsott, Lawaas, and Tsoachwoar.

The department penalized a number of erring traders and collected Rs 10,000 as fine.
