Assembly session: Opposition stages walk out, Rasheed demands Right to Self Determination
Jammu: The Assembly session began on a stormy note after the opposition parties National Conference and Congress raised anti-government slogans and disrupted the governor’s speech.
The opposition members raised slogans like PDP-BJP hai hai, Choti Katne wali sarkar hai hai. The Governor kept asking them to remain seated however they didn’t budge and later staged a walk out.
Earlier, Independent Kashmir legislator and AIP chairman Engineer Rasheed staged a protest outside the legislative assembly to demand “right to self-determination for Kashmiris”.
Holding a banner with pictures of slain civilians Mysara Bano and Asif and pellet victims, Rasheed said that “right to self-determination was the only way out” for resolution of Kashmir issue.
Rasheed had termed the killings as “cold-blooded murder”.
“If Kashmir is not an issue then what is Dineshwar Sharma doing in J&K. Why is India talking to separatists,” he asked.
