Srinagar: The High Court today stayed the order for attachment of Director Sher e Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Dr. Ahangar. The order has come after Dr. Ahangar was attached as a fallout of a “sting operation” by India based TV Channel, The Republic, that showed some doctors from SKIMS practicing privately despite a rule which prohibits it.

Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) President Dr. Suhail Naik has welcomed the High Court’s decision to stay the Govt. order pertained to attachment of Director SKIMS Dr A G Ahangar.

DAK in a statement said, “This has restored the dignity and respect of the highest chair of SKIMS as he was made scapegoat evolving out of recent incidents.”

DAK in the statement made an appeal to the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to intervene in the issue and to evolve a ‘fool proof mechanism to shun off lobbyism & politics from SKIMS’ so that patient care is not affected and simultaneously no body becomes a scapegoat of filthy politics.

Earlier today a delegation of DAK had went to SKIMS in solidarity with protesting Resident Doctors Association, SKIMS (RDA, SKIMS) and had assured full support till the reinstatement of Director SKIMS.

Earlier, DAK  had threatened agitation if SKIMS Director was not reinstated.
