Posted on

Jerusalem: Israeli police has recommended that Benjamin Netanyahu should be indicted in two cases of alleged corruption.

Whether to press charges or not, that decision lies with the attorney general which make takes up to months.

Netanyahu, has repeatedly said that he has done nothing wrong, is not expected to resign. A premier who is facing such police recommendations or who has been formally charged with offences is not obliged to resign.

According to the AFP, there has been no response from Netanyahu as of now. He is however, expected to talk soon.

Police have been investigating Netanyahu over suspicions that he received expensive gifts, including pricey cigars, from wealthy supporters such as Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan and Australian billionaire James Packer.
His wife allegedly received bottles of pink champagne.
