On first day of Nawroz, at least 25 die in suspected car bombing in Kabul

Kabul: On the first day of Nawroz, at least 25 people have been killed and 18 wounded in a blast which occurred in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan, reported the TOLO News.

However, the death toll could rise as emergency personnel are still at the scene. According to the report in TOLO News, soon after the explosion, suspected to be a car bomb many people were seen lying on the ground.

The incident happened close to the Ali Abad hospital and Kabul University. Security forces have cordoned the area.

Recently, seven people died and 22 were injured in a ‘suicide bombing’ close to Mosalla-Mazar area of the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul. The explosion occurred close to a ceremony being held on the death anniversary of Abdul Ali Mazari, the slain leader of the Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan.

Recently, the President of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani reached out to the Taliban and asked them to take part in the peace process in order to ‘save the country.’
