Forces will not launch operations during Ramzan, says GoI, Mehbooba hails decision
After the Ramzan ceasefire proposed by the Mehbooba Mufti government, New Delhi on Wednesday has asked the armed forces not to launch operations during the holy month.
In a series of tweets, the ministry of Home Affairs however added that the forces reserve the ‘right to retaliate or if essential to protect the lives of innocent people.’
The Centre asks Security Forces not to launch operations in Jammu & Kashmir during the holy month of Ramzan. Decision taken to help the peace loving Muslims observe Ramzan in a peaceful environment.

The Government of India said that they expect everyone to cooperate in this initiative.

After the Al Party Meet, which was held recently in Srinagar, the Government of JK had said that New Should consider Ramzan ceasefire, which was a ‘unanimous decision of all the parties.’However, militant outfit Al Umar Mujahideen, in a statement had rejected the proposal.
“Dialogue with India is a futile exercise and the Kashmir issue can only be resolved through armed struggle, “outfit’s chief Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar had said.
