Srinagar: The work on Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh limb of the flyover was suspended due to non cooperation of the suppliers and the labourers will resume in coming few days.
Works minister and government spokesman Naeem Akhtar said, “the company undertaking the construction of the flyover had some issues which were sorted out in a meeting called by the Chief Secretary and the work will hopefully resume within few days.”
The work on the flyover had been suspended after the labourers and suppliers denied to execute the works due to delay in payments but with chief secretary calling a meeting with the representatives of all concerned and settling with them the pending issues the work on flyover is likely to start in coming few days.
The company which is constructing the Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh Flyover had withdrawn from the project which has brought the work on the project to a complete halt, The Kashmir Press had reported.
Simplex infrastructure, had asked its work force to stop work. Citing sources, the report said that the reasons for withdrawal remains unknown, however the company has cited that the Government of the state has ‘no work culture’.
“They have shot the letter to the government,” sources said. “The only thing which has come out of the letter to us is that they are not happy with the working of the government. They have written that local government had no ethics and no work culture.
