Gunfight breaks out along LoC, four army men injured
In a gunfight that broke out along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Nowgam area of Kupwara district, four army men have been injured.
A police officer told news agency GNS that army intercepted a group of militants near Sangam Post at around 9:20 am. “The group of militants after being challenged opened fire triggering off a gunfight”.
In the initial firefight, four armed personnel suffered bullet wounds and were evacuated to a nearby medical facility, he said.
Additional reinforcements were rushed to the site and the entire area has been cordoned off, he said.
