Homes of two militants allegedly set on fire by armed forces in Shopian

Families of two militants in the Shopian district of Kashmir have alleged that armed forces set their homes on fire last night.

According to report in the English daily Greater Kashmir, the family members of a militant Shahjahan alleged that the armed forces raided their house in Amshipora village of the district.

“We were asked to come out of the house. Later, they sprinkled some powder on the house and set it ablaze,” said a family member.

House of another militant, Syed Naved was also allegedly set ablaze by the armed forces. The family members said that they were able to douse the fire immediately.

Meanwhile, in another district, Pulwama, father of the Hizb commander Riyaz Naikoo was arrested by the government forces during a nocturnal raid. Cops said that he was detained for questioning.

Apart from senior Naikoo, 18 youth have also been detained during nocturnal raids in several villages of Pulwama district last night.
