Pakistan PM House releases list of luxury, surplus vehicles to be auctioned in mid-September

The Prime Minister House released the list of luxury and surplus vehicles that will be auctioned by the government on September 17. The auction will take place in the PM House itself.

The vehicles include eight BMWs, three cars of 2014 model and three 5000cc SUVs and two 3000cc SUVs of 2016 model. The list also contains four Mercedes Benz cars of 2016 model. Two of them are 4,000cc bullet-proof vehicles.

There are 16 Toyota cars. One of them is 2004 Lexus car, one 2006 Lexus SUV and two 2004 Land Cruisers. Eight cars range from 2003 to 2013 models.

Apart from these, four bullet-proof Land Cruiser vehicles of 2015 model are also up for auction. There is one Honda Civic 1800cc car and three Suzuki vehicles, including two Cultus cars and one APV, all of them are of 2013 model. The list also includes a 1994 model Hino bus.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had promised to auction the vehicles allotted and had also said that he has envisioned a ‘Medina-like Islamic Welfare State which will be sympathetic towards the weaker sections of the society.Khan, who is the chief of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, which has emerged as the single largest party of Pakistan, Khan shared his vision for the country and pledged to safeguard the interests of ordinary citizens.

“I want to share with you the kind of Pakistan I envision — the type of state that was established in Medina, where widows and the poor were taken care of,” he said.

“My inspiration comes from the last Prophet who set up an ideal welfare state in Medina. I want Pakistan to become like that. A humanistic, not an animalistic state,” he said in a speech made from Bani Gala in Islamabad and broadcast via video link.

“I pledge to our people that I will introduce a system that is for the masses, all policies will be for the people and not for the elite,” he vowed. “I will live humbly. So far, we have seen that everyone who comes to power changes. That will not happen with me.”

He said he would not live in the official residence of the Prime Minister and the “lavish” house would be converted into a public space like an educational institution.
