Search operation launched along J-K highway after shots fired at CRPF party

Srinagar: Armed forces conducted a massive cordon and search operation in Jajjar Kotli area along Jammu-Srinagar highway following shots at a CRPF naka party on Wednesday.

Unknown persons opened fire at the CRPF party deployed for naka duty on the highway around 8:10 am, Greater Kashmir reported, quoting a source.

“Soon after the incident, a massive search operation was launched in the area and high alert was also sounded,” said a police official. “The army also joined in the operations.”

“The operation is going on and more details will be shared later,” said the official.
