Upper reaches of Kashmir Valley witness fresh snowfall

Srinagar: The upper reaches of the Valley saw fresh snowfall with rains in lower plains on Tuesday, leading to a drop in the temperature.

The upper reaches of the Valley, including the world famous ski resort of Gulmarg received fresh snowfall causing dip in the temperature, Kashmir Reader quoted officials on Tuesday.

Sonmarg, a popular tourist spot, also received fresh snowfall. Srinagar and other parts of Valley received rain overnight, officials said.

Meanwhile, according to a meteorological department spokesman, light to moderate rain or snow is likely to be witnessed on higher reaches during next 24 hours to 36 hours from later tonight.

The weather added that there are chances of light to moderate snowfall on Zojila, Sinthan Pass and Mughal Road.
