Nine youth arrested during nocturnal raid in Shopian village

Srinagar: During a nocturnal raid in the Gundidarvesh village of Shopian, armed forces have arrested at least nine youth.

A police official said that the forces in the dead of night surrounded a cluster of houses and arrested the youth for the alleged involvement in stone pelting incidents.

According to reports, the villagers were ordered to come out of their houses and then forces identified eight youth from a list and detained them.

The detained youth have been identified as Nawaz Ahmad Dar, Shabir Ahmad Sheikh, Jahangir Ahmad Mir, Bilal Ahmad Dar, Showkat Ahmad Dar, Asif Ahmad Paul, Zefan Fayaz and Muzamil Ahmad Sheikh.
