Jammu: Post-Darbar Move, JK Chief Secretary chairs first meeting of Administrative Secretaries
Jammu: Chief Secretary, BVR Subrahmanyam Tuesday chaired the first meeting of the Administrative Secretaries after opening of Darbar and other move offices at Jammu.
Chief Secretary called upon the Administrative Secretaries to attend to the people’s problems on priority and ensure better delivery of public services. He also stressed the need for speedy implementation of flagship and welfare programmes so that their benefits reach the people purposefully. He asked for vigorously pursuing all languishing projects to complete them in a time bound manner.
The issues which prominently figured in Tuesday’s meeting included, functioning of winter secretariat at Srinagar, redress of pubic grievances, punctuality of staff in Secretariat and subordinate offices, accommodation of Durbar Move employees at Jammu, issues related to the welfare of employees, timely conduct of DPCs, timely filing of Property Statements by the officers, timely release of salaries to the employees, issues related to daily rated workers, preparedness for Panchayat polls, devolution of funds under 15th Finance Commission for the urban local bodies and Panchayats and issues related to the security and welfare of J&K students studying in different parts of the country.
The Chief Secretary directed for giving wide publicity through media regarding the functioning of winter Secretariat at Srinagar so that people can avail services and assistance. He also emphasized on close synergy between various departments for ensuring better results on ground.
