Mujgund Gunfight: Clashes break out near gunfight site
Srinagar: Clashes broke out between protesters and the armed forces near the gunfight site in Mujgund area on the outskirts of Srinagar.
Reports said that people, mostly youth, took to streets as soon as the news of the gunfight spread in the area.
Reports said that announcements were made over the public address systems of mosques asking youth to stage protests. Eye Witnesses told Greater Kashmir that youth pelted forces with stones to disrupt the anti-militant operation and forces responded by firing tear gas shells.
The gunfight ensued after the armed forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in the area.
