Srinagar: Ahead of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’s visit to Kashmir, all roads leading to SKICC have been closed for civilian movement, reported the news agency UNI.

Moreover, sharp-shooters have been deployed to foil any attack during Modi’s visit.

Modi is scheduled to visit all three regions of the state – Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh – to lay foundation stones and inaugurate various developmental projects.

During his visit to Kashmir, PM Modi will lay foundation stone of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Transit Accommodation for Migrant families and also launch the SAUBHAGYA Scheme from SKICC on Sunday.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, earlier in the day was placed under house arrest ahead of Modi’s visit. AIP chairman and former lawmaker Er Rashid was also detained to prevent him from leading a march against Narendra Modi’s Kashmir visit.

Earlier, Rashid in a statement said that his party will receive Modi with black flags to protest the “colonial mindset” of New Delhi and the “loot of the state’s resources.”

Joint Resistance Leadership has called for a complete shutdown against his visit.
