In a tweet Akhtar said:

“This is like shooting the messenger instead of taking action on the complaint. The Governor is targeting the party which has been channelising people’s problems for the last two decades. This Governor is showing a clear bias and if he seeks to lead the state in this fashion, we are in for worst days,” Akhtar said.

Earlier, Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has said that the no one should take former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti seriously as her party is breaking up.

Malik added that in a bid to save her party, she is commenting against the Indian political system.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in Jammu, Malik said: “Elections are round the corner, her party is breaking up. Her party is in a bad shape. She had come to power by stirring anti-India sentiments. Nobody should take her statements seriously.”

While reacting to the comments of Malik, Mehbooba said that it is saddening to see constitutional authorities taking sides so brazenly.
