Omar welcomes opening of Sharda Peeth corridor, hopes Pakistan will open more routes
Srinagar: National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah while welcoming the opening of Sharada Peeth corridor, the former Chief Minister hoped that the Pakistan Government will open all routes connecting both sides of Kashmir.
In a series of tweets, Omar said that the steps taken by Pakistan will be reciprocated in a ‘post May 23’ India.
After the welcome announcement to open the Sharda Peeth corridor to religious pilgrims by @ImranKhanPTI we hope the government in Pakistan will only announce the Kargil-Skardu road as also other routes to facilitate greater people to people contact.

In another tweet, he said:One can only hope that in a post May 23rd India these steps will be reciprocated by the central government & we can move towards resuming the comprehensive dialogue between India & Pakistan.

While welcoming the step to open the corridor, he Omar had said:It’s good to see @ImranKhanPTI take decisions that have been held up for years. Sharda Peeth is also one of the three famous holy sites for Kashmiri Pandits, the other two being the Martand Sun Temple in Anantnag and the Amarnath temple.
After Kartarpur corridor, Sharda Peeth will be the second religious corridor between the two countries.
