Modi will have to answer after Pak PM ‘endorsed him for a second term’, says Omar

Srinagar: National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that Narendra Modi will have to answer after Pakistani premier Imran Khan “endorsed” him for a second term as prime minister.

“Modi will have to answer that because it was Modi only who, till now, was saying that Pakistan and militants want the BJP to lose, but it has become clear today that it is the Pakistan which wants Modi to win again,” Abdullah told reporters.

Earlier, the Congress lashed out at Modi saying that Pakistan has ‘officially sided’ with Modi and vote for him would be a vote for Pakistan.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan said that said there may be a better chance of peace talks with India if PM Narendra Modi’s BJP comes to power again.

Khan said that the Congress party might be too scared to seek a settlement with Pakistan over Kashmir, fearing a backlash from the right wing if they come to power.

“Perhaps if the BJP – a right-wing party – wins, some kind of settlement in Kashmir could be reached,” Imran Khan told journalists in an interview.
