Incessant rains: Bridges washed away in Tangmarg, Bandipora, alert sounded in Doda

Srinagar: Incessant rains have caused havoc in various parts of the valley.

According to reports, gushing waters after incessant rains have washed away a bridge at Shrai in Tangmarg area of Baramulla district cutting of scores of villages including Chandil, Budrekot, Gogaldara, from tehsil headquarters.

The district administration on Wednesday ordered closure of all schools and sounded an alert in Doda after weatherman predicted heavy rains and issued an avalanche warning.

Moreover, hailstorm wrecked havoc in Chrar-e-Sharief area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district last night causing massive damage to crops.

According to reports, locals said that the orchards spread over thousands of Kanals of land in Zaloosa, Nowhad, Cherwani, Dalwan, Tilsara, Rakhai, Hayatpora, Lolipora, Batpora, Futlipora suffered massive damage.

In Bandipora, a bridge was washed away by flash floods in Arin village. Locals said that the bridge over Arin Nallah connecting Arin with Bapora village was washed away due to flash floods triggered by incessant rains since last evening.
