Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan to felicitate Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on assuming office for a second term, had renewed Pakistan’s offer to hold dialogue with India to resolve contentious issues, including the Kashmir dispute.

Earlier this month, in a letter Khan had written to Modi for restoring peace in the region, and addressing the problems confronting the people of the two countries.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had also written a letter to the newly appointed Jaishankar and congratulated him on assuming office.

According to Dawn News, the letters were received by Pakistan through diplomatic channels on Tuesday.

Pakistan based newspapers had reported that in their response, Modi and Jaishankar wrote about comprehensive and fresh talks between India and Pakistan.

India however denies agreeing to any talks and said that the Indian response was about seeking ‘normal and cooperative relations with all neighbours including Pakistan’.
