Man injured in building collapse after Nawakadal gunfight dies in Srinagar hospital

Srinagar: A 55-year-old man, injured in a house collapse following gunfight at Kanimazar Nawakadal here last week, succumbed to serious burn injuries at SMHS hospital here.

Medical superintendent SMHS hospital Dr Nazir Choudhary said that the man was admitted to the hospital with severe burn injuries.

According to the police the man is identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khan from Hawal Srinagar, and had suffered serious burn injuries after one of the several houses damaged in gunfight between militants and armed forces at the Nawakadal collapsed on him.

Four persons were injured in the incident and one of them, a 12 year old, Basim Aijaz, died earlier this week.

Two militants, including Junaid Sehrai son of Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, were killed in a gunfight with Indian Armed Forces. At least fifteen houses were destroyed.
