‘PoK will demand that they want to be with India’

Amid tensions between India and Nepal, Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh on Monday that the government will sort out any misunderstanding between the two countries through dialogue.

“If there is any misunderstanding between India and Nepal, then we will sort it out through dialogue,” said Singh while addressing the ‘Jammu and Kashmir Jan Samvad rally’ via video conference on Sunday.

Speaking at a virtual rally of the BJP, he further said, “Indo-Nepal ties are not ordinary, we are bound together by ‘roti-beti’ and no power in world can break it.”

Commenting on the Indo-Nepal border issue, the Defense Minister also said that the road built by BRO in Lipulekh is very much in Indian territory.

India recently took up with Nepal the killing of an Indian by Nepalese border guards on Friday in a border area near Sitamarhi district of Bihar, news agency PTI reported quoting official sources.

The Nepalese guards opened fire on a crowd killing the 22-year-old Indian man and injuring two others following an altercation, according to Indian officials.

The incident came in the midst of a raging border row between the two countries after the Nepalese government came out with a map depicting areas of Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura as Nepalese territories.

The Nepal government on Saturday managed to get a unanimous approval of the lower house of the country’s parliament to the new map, prompting India to say that such “artificial enlargement” of territorial claim is untenable.

Singh also said that the fate and picture of Jammu and Kashmir will change in the years to come under PM Modi’s leadership.

He further said that soon people of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) will demand that they want to be with India and not under the rule of Pakistan, and the day this happens, a goal of our parliament will also be accomplished, adding that under PM Modi’s leadership, Jammu and Kashmir will touch great heights.

Speaking on the change in scenario after the abrogation of article 370, Rajnath said that earlier in Kashmir, protests demanding ‘Kashmir azaadi’ were held and flags of Pakistan and ISIS were seen, but now we see Indian flags here.

Rajnath Singh said that the time has changed now, we are forecasting weather of Muzaffarabad and Gilgit, while addressing ‘Jammu Jan Samvad rally’ via video conferencing in New Delhi.

Singh said earlier flags of Pakistan and Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) were seen in Kashmir but now only Indian flag is seen in there.

“I pay my tribute to Sarpanch Ajay Pandita, who died in a cowardly attack and also Maqbool Sherwani of Baramulla, who in 1947 hoisted the Indian flag in Kashmir valley,” said Rajnath Singh.
