India Coronavirus tally surges past 4.7 lakh as 16,922 cases reported in a single day
The total number of people testing positive for the virus has surged upto 4,73,105 as 16,922 cases were reported in a single day.
Corona seems to be giving India a tough time 14,894 people dying due to the deadly pandemic. In the last 24 hours, 418 fatalities were recorded. The recovery rate of the virus currently stands at 57.42%.
As per ICMR, a medical research body, about 75 lakh samples have been taken in order to test them for the virus till 24th June.
1,000 testing labs have been installed so as to increase the number of samples tested. As of now, 730 labs have been set up by the government and the other 730 by private enterprises.
With India battling against the virus, the state of Maharashtra stands with 1,42,900 positive cases followed by Delhi at 70,390 and Tamil Nadu at 67,468.
The death toll tally stands at 6,739 in Maharashtra while as the national capital accounts for 2,365.
