JK reports fresh 470 COVID infections, 17,375 recovered so far

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday informed that 470 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus were reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases to 25,367.

There were also six COVID deaths from Kashmir division reported in the last 24 hours.

Moreover, 372 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals- 90 from Jammu division and 282 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 25,367 positive cases, 7,514 are Active Positive, 17,375 have recovered and 478 have died- 35 in Jammu division and 443 in Kashmir.

The Bulletin further said that out of 7,25,542 test results available, 7,00,175 samples have been tested as negative till August 10, 2020.

Additionally, till date, 3,95,216 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 40,932 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7,514 in isolation and 48716 under home surveillance.

Besides, 2,97,576 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The administration also evacuated about 2,99,540 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur  and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 110 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 92,299 passengers while about 2,07,241 persons from other states and UTs including 906 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.
