NIA charge sheet on Pulwama attack ‘an attempt to serve domestic political interests’, says Pakistan

Srinagar: Rejecting the charge sheet produced by National Investigation of India (NIA) on 19 accused in connection with the militant attack on the convoy of armed forces personnel at Lethpora, Pulwama, Pakistan on Thursday said that it categorically rejects the charge sheet by India’s investigation agency as it is a yet another attempt to serve “domestic political interests.”

The attack on February 14, 2019, resulted in killing of 40 CRPF personnel and damage to the tune of Rs 32,90,719/- to the public property,

According to a statement by Pakistan Foreign Office, fabrications mentioned in the charge sheet by NIA are patently designed to “strengthen the BJP’s anti-Pakistan rhetoric and its narrow domestic political interests.”

Pakistan, according to the statement, also said that India failed to provide any credible evidence for its invective and has instead been using the attack for its “malicious propaganda” campaign against Pakistan.

Pakistan also said that it has been warning the International community about India’s use of “false-flag” operation and possible “ill-conceived” misadventure.

In response to this, spokesperson for Bhartiya Janta Party GVL Narasimha Rao called Pakistan a “habitual liar” and that it has denied its culpability in all “terror crimes” despite clinching the evidence.

“In Pulwama, NIA has presented clinching forensically matched evidence to nail the role of Jaish-e-Mohammad and Pakistan. There will be no takers for Pakistan’s lies either in India or internationally,” he added.

On August 26, National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed 13,800 pages charge sheet against 19 accused persons in NIA Special Court at Jammu in connection with the militant attack on the CRPF convoy at Lethpura, Pulwama, with an IED-laden vehicle by Jaish-e-Mohammad militant Adil Ahmad Dar, resulting in killing of 40 armed forces personnel (CRPF) and grievous injuries to eight others.

The investigation has revealed that Pulwama attack was a result of “well-planned criminal conspiracy hatched by Pakistan-based leadership of militant organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad”. The JeM leaders have been sending their cadres to the militant training camps of Al-Qaida-Taliban-JeM and Haqqani-JeM in Afghanistan for receiving training in explosives and other militant tactics.
