Known as Kashmiri Tendulkar, cricketer loses life to heart attack on field

Srinagar: Locally known as Sachin Tendulkar – an Indian star cricketer, for his unique moves in cricket, a young talent from Kremshora village of Budgam, in Central Kashmir, died of a heart attack on Sunday.

Identified as Aijaz Ahmed Mir, a resident of Kremshora, while playing a cricket at a play ground in Aarigam Budgam, collapsed and died on spot after a speeding ball hit him on his leg guard, eyewitnesses said.

According to locals, Mir was a passionate cricketer and popularly known as Sachin Tendulkar for his batting style, scores and demeanour.

Tendulkar is a former international cricketer from India and a former captain of the Indian national team.

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket and highest run scorer of all time in International cricket.
