MeT predicts more rains across JK for next 2 days

Srinagar: The meteorological department on Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday predicted a spell of light to moderate rains at scattered to fairly widespread places of JK during next two days.

In isolated places of the erstwhile state, especially in Jammu region, there are chances of moderate to heavy showers, especially in morning hours, on September 2 and 3.

“There’s no forecast of any significant weather except occasional rain,” the MeT officials informed, adding, there would be a slight fall in day temperature as well.

Earlier in a week, JK witnessed heavy rains triggering tense situation in various parts of the erstwhile state.

At least four people died in Jammu region due to rainfall which triggered landslides and flash floods, while dozens of livestock perished in Sangiote village near Balakote in the Poonch district area.

Among them, three persons, including a woman, were killed in a landslide due to heavy rainfall in Reasi district while a man was killed due to landslide in Rajouri district of Jammu region.
