Private schools in JK may be directed to reduce tuition fees of students by 30%, says Asgar Samoon

Srinagar: Amid the COVID pandemic claiming the lakhs of lives so far, the administration of Jammu and Kashmir may direct private schools to reduce tuition fees of students by 30% as the schools were shut since March due to the lockdown.

The hint about the reduction of the fee was given by JK’s Principal Secretary School Education and Skill Development Dr Asgar Samoon, after he tweeted: “in view of recent judgements of High courts of Madras & Rajasthan; Govt may direct private schools to reduce tuition fees of students by 30% in view of closure of schools due to covid 19 lockdown for March to Sept 2020; views of parents & management solicited.”
