COVID: Schools, Colleges and Anganwadi centers in JK to remain closed till October 31
Srinagar: In a fresh order issued on Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir administration said that all schools, Higher secondary schools, colleges and Anganwadi centres will remain closed in JK till October 31 2020.
The administration in its order added that all the SOPs and instructions issued earlier shall continue till the further orders.
The instructions are being issued for regulating activities that are to be permitted during the extended period of lockdown (Unlock-5) in pursuance of MHA’s order No 40-3/2020- DM-1 (A) dated 30, 09, 2020, and these instructions shall remain in force till further orders unless modified,]
The order mentioned that no fresh permission, passes are required for activities which were already permitted under earlier orders.
The following activities shall continue to remain prohibited across JK irrespective of the categorisation of the districts with effect from October 9, 2020, till further orders:
All schools, colleges, higher educational Institutions (including Anganwadi centres), etc, will continue to remain closed till October 31, 2020, except training institutions run by the GoI or JK administration.
However, the online, distance learning shall be permitted and 50% of teaching and non-teaching staff shall be permitted to be called to Schools for online teaching, tele-counselling and related work, in areas outside containment.
Students of classes 9 to 12 are permitted to visit their schools, in areas outside the Containment Zones only, on a voluntary basis, for taking guidance from their teachers. This shall, however, be permitted subject to the written consent of their parents, guardians, as per the SOP already issued in this regard by the health ministry of India.
